Tomorrowland launches own DAB+ radio station
To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the first Tomorrowland festival the organisers of the annual dance music extravaganza have launched their very own radio station that started broadcasting on Monday at 1pm. The station that is available on DAB+ and online will continue to broadcast until 31 August.
As well as being available on DAB+ across Flanders (including Brussels), the station can also be heard via a listen live feature on the festival’s website www.tomorrowland.com and via the Tomorrowland app. The station will offer programmes such as the Tomorrowland fans' top 30, exclusive tracks or full DJ sets or shows by artists that perform at the festival.
The station is called Tomorrowland One World Radio. The festival organisers say that it will offer “unique content and mixes that you will hear nowhere else, combined with the very best moments from 15 years of Tomorrowland history”.
The content will also be available on demand. “We have been working on the project for two years and are looking forward to unleashing it on the world”, a Tomorrowland spokesperson told VRT News ahead of the launch.
Both young up and coming talent and artists that have become mainstays of the festival over the years will feature on the station. For example, the Dutch DJ Armin Van Buuren will present an exclusive mix to get listeners in the mood for the weekend every Friday evening. Each week the Australian DJ sisters Nervo will present the One World Radio Top 30 that will is compiled from the preferences of the stations listeners.
This year’s Tomorrowland festival will take place during the weekend of 19 to 21 July and the weekend of 26 to 28 July. The festival is already sold out.
