Salmonella: Colruyt recalls chicken products

Supermarkets Colruyt and Okay are removing from their shelves and are recalling chicken chipolatas, chicken sausage, chicken mince and chicken burgers.  The products may contain the salmonella bacteria which can cause nasty intestinal problems.  Customers are asked to return the products to the store where they will receive a refund.

The recall affects all such products sold this week between 8 and 10 April, in all Colruyt and Okay stores across Belgium.  The products have the best before dates 15/4/2019 and 16/4/2019. The contamination was discovered in the course of internal checks at a Colruyt supplier.

Colruyt says that anybody who has eaten any of these products and is experiencing a high temperature or stomach pains should contact their GP.

(The chickens pictured above are unconnected to the present food scare.)
