Fire guts wood store in Limburg municipality of Pelt
A fire has gutted the wood store of a company in the Limburg municipality of Pelt. A warehouse where fireworks and munition are stored is located near to the wood store. However, fire-fighters had the blaze under control before it was able to spread to adjacent buildings.
The wood store is owned by Jezet Seating, a company that is specialised in the production and installation of telescopic stands and seating for theatres, sports hall and auditoria.
A large plume of smoke billowed up from the fire. A large number of fire-fighters were dispatched to tackle the blaze with reinforcements brought in from other areas.
Those living nearby were asked to keep their windows and doors closed and to avoid the immediate vicinity of the fire.
All those working at the factory escaped without injury. The fire was brought under control quickly. Apart from the wood store most of the rest of the site was spared from damage.
