Anderlecht back in the top 6, Lokeren relegated

In the final 2 First Division games of the weekend there were wins for Sporting Anderlecht and Royal Football Club Antwerp. In the 6pm kick-off Anderlecht beat Sporting Lokeren 1-2. Not only did the result see Anderlecht back climb up into the top 6, but it also saw Sporting Lokeren relegated to the Second Division.

Anderlecht’s goals came from Ivan Santini on 16 minutes and Peter Gerkens on 16 minutes. An 81st minute goal by Lokeren’s José Cevallos proved to be too little, too late for the East Flemings.

With two games left Sporting Anderlecht are 6th with 45 points from 28 games. This is just 1 point more than 7th-placed AA Gent. Sporting Lokeren are bottom with just 17 points, 9 points less than the team that is second to bottom Waasland-Beveren.

RFC Antwerp win despite having two goals disallowed.

All of the goals in RFC Antwerp’s game against KAS Eupen fell in the second half. Antwerp took the lead on 52 minutes through Owusu.

However, the Great Old’s joy was short-lived as Ocansey equalised for Eupen just 4 minutes later. Antwerp’s Batubunsika saw his goal disallowed for pushing, while a little later an Mbokani goal was also disallowed this time for off-side.

It was third time lucky for Antwerp on 83 minutes when Bolingi scored what turned out to be the winning goal. The result leaves RFC Antwerp 3rd with 49 points from 28 games. KAS Eupen are 12 with 29 points.
