No Deal: "Shortage of medicines, threatened food supplies"
In recent days continentals have woken up to the prospect of the UK leaving the EU without a deal. But is such a scenario plausible. VRT News spoke with Prof Hendrik Vos, who lectures EU studies in Ghent.
"A No Deal scenario is one that involves an awful lot of chaos and uncertainty. I believe people will do everything to avoid it, especially on the UK side."
"Ms May uses tough language and says she prefers 'No Deal' to a 'Bad Deal', but the ramifications are not negligible: a shortage of medicines, long queues on the border, air traffic in chaos, even a partial threat to food supplies. This is a horrible prospect for British business, but also for the ordinary consumer."
