Woman attacked with machete in Charleroi
A woman was brutally attacked by intruders brandishing a machete at her home in Charleroi (Hainaut) on Friday night. The local police in the Walloon city have detained two of the three attackers, the third is still at large.
The Judicial Authorities says that the three broke into the woman’s home before brutally attacking her.
The assailants beat the woman before stabbing her in the thigh. They also attacked a passer-by in the street outside. He was attacked because he refused to surrender his mobile phone to the three attackers.
Both victims were taken to hospital for treatment. Neither of their conditions is described as life-threatening. The police have detained two suspects. They will be questioned about the attacks. A third suspect was able to get away.
