Shooting in Halle: 30-year-old injured
A 30-year-old man from Dworp (Beersel – Flemish Brabant) was wounded in a shooting in the Halle district of Lembeek (Flemish Brabant) on Wednesday. The victim was shot in the leg during an argument. A 27-year-old suspect, a man from Halle, fled the scene but could be apprehended later in the evening.
The shooting occurred on the Bergensesteenweg. Public prosecutors say police discovered the 2 men were having an argument when a firearm was drawn and a shot was fired.
The victim managed to flee into a nearby night shop, where emergency services were called. The victim was taken to hospital. He did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
Later in the evening, a suspect was apprehended. The latter had fled to a flat a little further down the road. The Halle-Vilvoorde public prosecutor's office is investigating the incident.
