Princess Eléonore celebrates her 16th birthday

King Filip and Queen Mathilde’s youngest child Princess Eléonore celebrates her 16th birthday today. To mark the occasion the Royal Palace has released two photographs of the princess.  

Princess Eléonore, whose full name is Eleonore Fabiola Victoria Anne Marie, was born on 16 April 2008. She is the second daughter and the youngest of King Filip and Queen Mathilde”s four children.

Princess Eléonore is currently fourth in line to the Belgian throne after her three older siblings. She was born at the Erasmus Hospital in the Brussels municipality of Anderlecht.

The two birthday photographs were taken at the Royal Estate in the Brussels municipality of Laken. Like her older brother Prince Emmanuel, Princess Eléonore is a pupil at the International School of Brussels in the Brussels municipality of Watermaal-Bosvoorde. The school teaches through the medium of English. In her free time Princess Eléonore plays the violin. In 2020 she showed her skills as a musician when she played at a Christmas concert at the Royal Palace in Brussels.  

As well as playing the violin, Princess Eléonore also enjoys skiing, sailing and tennis. He is also a member of the Scouts.
