Nearly half of all Brussels councillors are women
Nearly half of all newly elected municipal councillors in the 19 Brussels boroughs are women!
The figure: 48.8% is a new record. Six years ago only 41.5% of councillors elected in Brussels were members of the fairer sex. In a full eight municipalities, Oudergem, Ganshoren, Elsene, Sint-Gillis, Ukkel, Watermaal-Bosvoorde, Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe and Sint-Pieters-Woluwe, women councillors are in the majority!
In Oudergem 20 out of the 31 councillors are women. Fewest women councillors were elected in Sint Joost: 10 out of 29.
