Could wolves Naya or August be in trouble?

Traces of blood have been discovered in the area roamed by the wolves Naya and August, in Limburg province. That's according to De Standaard. It is now being investigated whether the blood belongs to the wolves or not.

A forest ranger found the blood traces at the end of January. "It is unusual that blood traces are found in plain nature, so we are investigating where it comes from", says Koen Van Muylem of the Institute for Nature and Forest Research.

This being said, all options are open. There are no indications that the blood comes from one of the wolves: it could also belong to a person or another mammal. "According to the first indications, the blood is not from a wolf, but this has to be confirmed by a thorough analysis this Monday."
