Air Antwerp to launch route from Antwerp to London City Airport
Talk of a no-deal Brexit has done nothing to discourage Air Antwerp. The airline that operates out of Deurne Airport in the east of Antwerp will shortly start flying to the heart of the British capital London. Â Â
The new service with be launched on 9 September. The airline announced the launch of its London City route after it had received a flight and operating licence from the Federal Transport Department. Â
Air Antwerp has a code share agreement with the Dutch airline KLM. On weekdays Air Antwerp will operate three flights a day between Antwerp and London City.
There will also be a flight on Sunday evening. Air Antwerp will fly a Fokker 50, in which there is room for 50 passengers. The airline was set up in May this year. It is owned by the Irish Airline Cityjet and KLM. Â
Meanwhile, the British low cost airline Flybe will continue its service to Southend Airport in Essex (around 65km east of London) until the end of the month. Â
