More than 600kg of cocaine seized at Antwerp Docks
Customs officers at the Port of Antwerp have intercept 617 kilogrammes of cocaine. The drugs were hidden in a container loaded with tins of tuna. The Judicial Authorities have opened an investigation.
The drugs were found by customs officers during a search carried out at the beginning of the month. The cocaine was concealed in over 500 packages and was hidden in a container loading with a consignment of cocaine from Ecuador.
Once the drugs had been weighed it emerged that a total of 617kg had been found. The Judicial Authorities are investigating how the drugs came to be in the container and who they were destined for.
