Martinez announces squad for next month’s Euro 2020 qualifiers

The coach of Belgium’s national football Roberto Martinez has announced his squad for next month’s Euro 2020 qualifying games against Kazachstan (on 8 June) and Scotland (on 11 June). There was one big surprise among Martinez’s squad, the KAS Eupen goalkeeper Hendrik Van Crombrugge. Van Crombrugge is one of four goalkeepers called up by Martinez. The national team coach says that he and his staff have been following Hendrik Van Crombrugge for some time.

"We’ve been following Hendrik for three year now. He is a modern keeper and a good footballer. A Eupen he is left in the shadows by lads like Thibaut Courtois, Simon Mignolet, Koen Casteels and Matz Sels, but he has earned this selection. I feel that Hendrik is ready for this step”, Robert Martinez said.
