Rorqual in De Haan died a natural death

The rorqual that was dragged ashore at De Haan beach three weeks ago, (most probably) died of natural causes. That's the conclusion of a team of researchers. The animal was a male measuring 18 metres, weighing 30 tons. However, it was much too thin for its age, and the stomach was almost empty. No plastic was found in the stomach, and there were no traces of a collision with a ship. The rorqual probably fell ill.
