The price of petrol to reach its highest level in almost 5 months

The Federal Economy Department has announced new maximum prices for petrol that will take effect from midnight tonight. The price increases mean that the price of petrol will reach its highest level in the past five months. 

From midnight the maximum price that filling stations in Belgium will be allowed to charge for a litre of petrol 95 (E10) petrol will increase by 2.4 eurocent to 1.808 euro per litre. This will be the first time since October 2023 that the maximum price of a litre of petrol 95 will be higher than 1.8 euro/litre.

Meanwhile, the maximum price of the more expensive petrol 98 (E5) is set to increase by 3 eurocent to 2.019 euro/litre. This is the highest maximum price for a litre of petrol 98 since the beginning of November last year.
