Anderlecht remain in the doldrums and lose Vincent Kompany

In football, Anderlecht suffered yet another defeat, this time at defending champions KRC Genk. On top of that, player-coach Kompany sustained a muscle injury. Itis not clear how long he will be sidelined, but meanwhile Anderlecht are having their worst start in 20 years.

Anderlecht didn't play badly in the first half. But, just as in previous matches, they missed their chances and they played a much poorer second half. In that second half, KRC Genk scored the only goal of the match through striker Ali Samatta. A relief for Genk, who didn't play their football but who now come back in the top 6, while Anderlecht only have 2 points from 5 matches, after 2 draws and 3 losses.

Anderlecht lost Vincent Kompany in the second half with a leg injury. This is bad news for the Brussels club, who will have to find a replacement in the central defence. But it will give Kompany more time to concentrate on coaching.

Despite the bad news, Kompany took the time for some pictures with the fans. The players stayed a long time on the pitch to thank the Anderlecht fans who had travelled to Limburg for their support.

Despite the bad results, the supporters are still 100 percent behind Kompany and the young team. Anderlecht say they will not change things, adding they believe that things will turn.
