More properties search and a further 7 people detain in Antwerp “Clan Y” investigation
In the ongoing investigation into the criminal gang “Clan Y” a further 18 properties have been searched and 7 people detained for questioning. Last week the Judicial Authorities in Antwerp dismantled a Turkish Assyrian gang that was involved in cocaine dealing, illegal weapons, money laundering and the production and sale of forged identity documents.
Previously 16 people, including a city official, a former harbour master and a Sub-Deacon were detained.
A police officer that was detained as part of the investigation last week has had to be released due to procedural issues.
