Omicron cases surge to 9
So far Belgian labs have confirmed nine cases of the omicron variant of coronavirus in Belgium. That’s nearly a doubling in only one day. Yesterday only five cases were known.

The World health Organisation has dubbed the variant a ‘variant of concern’, though it’s not yet clear whether it is catchier or makes you more unwell.
