Thieves want to kill two birds with one stone, but remain empty-handed

Last night, thieves blew up the wall of an ING bank office in Pelt (Limburg). They wanted to let two cash machines explode at the same time, but remained empty-handed, the targeted ING Bank told reporters.

"Local residents heard different loud bangs, and we have found detonation mechanisms", explains Rudy Verkoyen of the local police. "There are talks of several thieves wearing masks and dark clothes." While the thieves failed to take any money, the damage is huge. This kind of robberies, in which gangsters use explosives to blow up cash machines, have been haunting the Limburg region for some time now, as the map below shows.
