Bus with Belgian schoolchildren in chain-reaction collision in the Netherlands
On the A58 motorway near Goirle in the Netherlands, a bus with a Belgian number plate ran into a chain-reaction collision. The bus contained 70 children, but they all remained unharmed.
The accident happened just before 5 p.m. on the A58 motorway near Eindhoven", says spokesman Dion Luijten from the Dutch police to VRT NWS. "There was a coach in that accident. There was a chain collision in which the coach was the last to hit a few cars."
"The coach came from Belgium. It contained 70 schoolchildren. They all remained unharmed. The road is closed to clear the road and also to conduct the investigation. A helicopter was called, but afterwards the situation turned out to be not so bad." The children came from Borgloon, in the province of Limburg.
According to the daily Dutch newspaper Brabants Dagblad, the children were escorted from the coach after the accident and received roadside assistance.
