Record number of people attend Bal National

A record 20,500 people attended the annual Bal National that is held in Brussels on the eve of Belgium’s National Day. Those in attendance on the Vossenplein in the Marollen area of the city were treated to performances from Belgian artists including Bella Perez, Lange Jojo and Boogie Boy. The concert was televised live on Brussels two regional television stations Bruzz (Dutch-language) and BX1 (Francophone). Two people not in attendance this year were King Filip and Queen Mathilde who instead attended a concert in the Brussels Palace of Fine Arts Bozar.
