Jazz Middelheim remembers "Toots": "He left us the feeling that music should have emotions"

Antwerp's Jazz Middelheim Festival, created in 1969, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. The event has a strong link with Jean "Toots" Thielemans, the Belgian harmonica legend who passed away three years ago and received the title of Baron. "Toots" was in every edition from 1981 until 2016, a good reason for organisers to highlight him. The video shows archive footage of Toots, the American pianist Kenny Werner - who performed various times on stage with the Belgian - speaking about Toots Thielemans' legacy, and an hommage with Grégoire Maret playing Toots' legendary "Bluesette".
