Antwerp only top 4 club to win

In the 18th day of play in the Belgian First Division football competition in was another weekend of mixed fortunes for the teams at the top of the league. The league-leaders KRC Genk drew 1-1 at home against KV Kortrijk on Saturday. On Friday a penalty and an own goal saw the reigning champions Champions Club Brugge beaten 2-1 away at Waasland-Beveren. On Sunday, Sporting Anderlecht drew 1-1 at home against Sporting Charleroi.

Charleroi’s goal too came from the penalty spot after an Anderlecht player had handled the ball inside the box.  The only club in the top 4 that was able to win was RFC Antwerp. Antwerp won 0-3 away at Cercle Brugge and are second in the league. 5th placed Sint-Truiden drew 1-1 at home against Standard de Liège on Saturday. AA Gent move op into top 6 after a 2-0 home win against KAS Eupen. Sporting Lokeren are bottom after at 1-0 defeat away at KV Oostende.
