Rescued 7-year-old dies in hospital
A 7-year-old girl that was rescued from a lake that is used as an open air swimming pool at the Hofstade Provincial Estate in Flemish Brabant on Sunday has passed away in hospital. The tragic news that the girl, who is from the Brussels municipality of Schaarbeek has died was released by the Halle-Vilvoorde Judicial Authorities on Tuesday morning.
An autopsy will be carried out on the little girl’s body to establish the cause of death.
On Sunday at around 4:40pm two Sport Vlaanderen life guard notice that girl was in trouble in the water. They took her out of the water and immediately started effort to resuscitate her. Paramedics were called and the little girl was rushed to Antwerp University Hospital in Edegem (Antwerp province). It is there that she died on Sunday night.
The Judicial Authorities are still investigating the circumstance surrounding the what happened to the girl on Sunday afternoon.
