US Secretary of State wishes Belgium “a happy National Day”
The American Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has extended his best wishes to Belgium on behalf of the US government and the American on this our country’s national day.
In a statement released earlier by the US Embassy in Brussels, Mr Pompeo wrote “Now that the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge is approaching, we remember the sacrifice that Americans and Belgians made to guarantee freedom and prosperity in the world”.
Mr Pompeo also pointed to the investments made by both our countries to ensure our mutual security. He also underlined our close economic ties and the shared democratic values that have maintain peace for past seven decades. He added that this alliance will continue in the face of new challenges.
The American Foreign Minister concluded by wishing the Belgians “a happy National Day and a successful year” on behalf of the United States.
