Flemish deficit explores new heights

6/6/20 - The Flemish budget deficit has shot off the rails and is climbing to new heights.  The deficit for 2020 has now reached 6.5 billion euros.  The corona crisis has pushed up expenditure: there has been a big take up of the grants available to businesses forced to close, while at the same time revenue is sharply down and the economic outlook is not rosy.
