Brussels police station burgled

A criminal investigation has been launched after burglars broke into to a police station in the centre of Brussels on Thursday night.  The thieves reportedly took shirts, trousers and police uniforms from the police station on the Hopstraat in the trendy Dansaert area of Brussels City Centre.  As yet no one has been detained in connection with the break in.

“It was at around 4am on Friday morning that a police patrol car noticed that there had been a break in at the police station on the Hopstraat in Brussels. When the officers entered they saw that whole building had been searched”, Ilse Van De Keere of the Brussels-Capital-Elsene Local Police Service told VRT News.

A criminal investigation has been launched in an effort to find the burglars. Forensic officers from the Federal Police Service have been to the scene to collect evidence that might lead to the arrest of those responsible.
