Joy for RFC Antwerp, misery for AA Gent

RFC Antwerp continued their strong start to Play-off I with a third victory in four games. This time they beat AA Gent 1-2 in a game that provided spectators with no little excitement in its closing stages. While Antwerp will be more than satisfied with their performance in the play-offs thus far, AA Gent will be disappointed that despite often playing some attractive football they have failed to pick up any points from their first four Play-off I games.

Amara Baby opened the scoring for the visitors on 21 minutes. The half time score remained 0-1 to Antwerp. Giorgi Chakvetadze equalised for AA Gent on 77 minutes.

However, the Buffaloes’ hopes of first Play-off I point were short-lived as Lior Refaelov (photo above) scored the winning goal for Antwerp on 82 minutes. The result leaves Antwerp 3rd with 34 points, AA Gent is 6th with 25 points.
