Price rise for Netflix subscribers in Belgium

The US streaming service Netflix has announced that it plans to increase monthly subscription fees for its customers in Belgium by 1 to 2 euro per month. The last time Netflix raised the price of its subscription packages in Belgium was in October 2021.

The price of Netfix’s basic package with which users can watch films and series on one screen at once will increase by 1 euro/month from 8.99 euro to 9.99 euro. Those wishing to use the service on two screens (tv, pc, laptop, tablet, smartphone...) will see their subscription increase from 13.49 euro to 14.99 euro/month. Netflix’s most expensive subscription that allows customers to watch films and series on 4 screens at once will increase in price from 17.99 euro to 19.99 euro per month.

Meanwhile, the cost of adding an extra household to your subscription will remain at 3.99 euro/month. Unlike in some neighbouring countruies such as Germany and France, Netflix has no plans to launch a cheaper subscription with which customers are shown advertising while they watch their film or series here in Belgium.

Nextflix subscriptions here are generally more expensive than in neighbouring countries. For example, Dutch Netflix customers pay 1 euro/month less for their subscription than the streaming service’s Belgian customers do.
